Get InvolvedInternship ProgramThe purpose of the Grains for Health Foundation Internship Program is to train young scientists as well as business and health professionals in how to collaborate in sustainable grain-based, multidisciplinary projects that promote public health. Interns work in a team environment participating in real-world experiences to develop their own strategic, global-minded thinking. Working closely across the grain supply chain means interns will understand the complex issues surrounding communication and policy in the whole grain sector. It is through these experiences our interns come away with the ability to develop real, practical solutions to pressing issues affecting the very communities where they’ll study and live. Ultimately, interns learn the vital need for open communication in the grains industry in order to realize true transformation. April 1st is the deadline for summer internship applications. Download the application here. For more detailed information about our Internship Program email us here: intern@grainsforhealth.org. View photos of the 2011 summer interns. As the first Grains for Health Foundation intern, I had the opportunity to enhance my communication and networking skills by interacting with key members of the Foundation and supporting institutions. I worked with multiple mentors and learned problem-solving skills from experts working in all sectors of the grain foods supply chain including, industry, academia, government, and other organizations. I had the opportunity to expand my ways of thinking and develop a portfolio of experiences that are shaping me as a professional and as a person. -Denise Hauge |
