School Nutrition – Understanding our Food Supply Chain to Help Improve Child Health

School foodservice directors, industry representatives, food bloggers, chefs, and others met at the International Market Square in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 11th and 12th to discuss how schools buy foods, barriers schools have to offering more healthful foods, and model solutions for school foodservice. The two-day event began with an evening of interactive discussion facilitated by rotating participants from table to table, with each table representing a different topic. This was a fun, relaxed environment to begin the brainstorming that followed into the program of the next day. Several next steps were generated as a result of the discussion from the workshop.
